On November 26, Guangzhou Dublin International College of Life Sciences and Technology (hereinafter referred to as "Guangzhou Dublin International College") held the 2024 Joint Management Committee (JMC) meeting. President of South China Agriculturual University Mr. XUE Hongwei, Chairman of JMC and President of University College Dublin, Mr. Orla Feely, Vice President Dolores O 'Riordan attended the meeting.
President of SCAU XUE Hongwei said that in response to the needs of the times, South China Agriculturual University and University College Dublin jointly established Guangzhou Dublin International College. Both sides have jointly promoted education and teaching, created a Sino-foreign cooperative education model by integrating the development of education, science and technology and talents. At present, Guangzhou Dublin International College has enrolled five cohorts of students, with the quality of students gradually improving each year.The first cohort of students have graduated this year, which shows the talent cultivation mode is remarkable. It is hoped that on the basis of existing achievements, the two universities will further build consensus and deepen integration, build Guangzhou Dublin International College into a broad and multi-layered international exchange and cooperation platform as a model of international education between the two universities to cultivate more innovative talents with international visionand promote the high-quality development of the two universities.
President of UCD Orla Feely fully affirmed the outstanding performance of the first cohorts of graduates of Guangzhou Dublin International College, expressed his sincere thanks to the hard work of the staff and hope that the two sides could continue to work together to contribute to the development of Guangzhou Dublin International College, actively explore new cooperation models, and seek mutual progress and development. Vice President of UCD Dolores O 'Riordan expressed his hope that the two sides would strengthenscientific research cooperation, jointly promote academic innovation and development in orderto promote education and teaching and help students develop comprehensively.
The meeting reviewed and approved the meeting minutes of the Joint Management Committee in 2023, the members and job responsibilities of the new Joint Management Committee, the continued establishment of the Joint Scholarship fund and other matters.The 2024 annual work report of GDIC and the financial report in 2024/2025 were made at the meeting. In-depth exchanges were conducted on topics such as joint scientific and innovative research, integration of teaching resources, mutual visitsand innovative cooperation models.
